About The Position
This is a temporary full-time Administrative level role reporting to the Associate Director, Development and Strategic Initiatives. It will be a 12 month contract.
Civic Lab is a platform to connect the expertise and infrastructure of the College to support community-based collaborative projects that have social, health, environmental, and economic impact in the community and beyond.
The Manager is the primary orchestrator of the community-based collaborative research initiatives. The role supports the development of innovative projects and acts as the lead researcher for many of the
projects. Other responsibilities include developing funding applications, mentoring new researchers, overseeing the operation of the lab, and coordinating outreach and reporting activities. Beyond program management, there is a commitment to stakeholder education, training, and support, with active involvement in coordinating special events that align with the overarching goals of the project.
Specific Accountabilities
- Develops strategic partnerships by proactively identifying, engaging, and managing relationships with both prospective and established partners to drive the creation
and execution of collaborative initiatives
- Spearheads the development and execution of community-based research projects
- Acts as Principal Investigator, ensuring the implementation of appropriate research
methodologies and driving insightful outcomes and tangible impact for the partner
- Strategically identifies and evaluates diverse funding opportunities, developing funding applications that effectively communicate the project's objectives and goals
- Oversees business model and cash-flow projections, budget reports, and financial viability, including stakeholder recruitment
- Oversees lead researchers and is responsible for the execution of projects within required parameters
- Actively facilitates the discovery and onboarding of emerging researchers both within
the College and externally, fostering their integration into Civic Lab projects. - Offers mentorship and guidance, cultivating their growth and proficiency in research
- Promotes Civic Lab platform through outreach activities to enhance visibility and
support for Civic Lab initiatives
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 year diploma or degree in arts, science or business
- Minimum of 3 years working experience conducting collaborative community-based research and project management of subject area environments
- Experience being a part of or leading substantial quality overhaul initiatives in an organization with a major focus on legislative alignment and accountability
- Experience coaching leadership
