Steel River Group is seeking a Paralegal to join our growing team of experienced and dedicated professionals. The Paralegal will provide support for Steel River Group’s operations as it relates to governance, commercial matters, litigation, regulations, securities, and mergers and acquisitions.

Key Job Duties:

  • Assist management to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies for the benefit of the Company.
  • Research and draft documents in correspondence to governance, commercial matters, litigation, regulatory, securities, and mergers and acquisitions
  • Draft, format, and review routine correspondence, legal documents, and various internal communications prior to review by leadership.
  • Draft and edit legal documentation related to corporate and commercial transactions including company policies and contract preparation.
  • Review routine and recurring contracts and other legal documents, including NDAs, service contracts, and subconsultant contracts.
  • Obtain backup documentation and information, in partnership with project teams.
  • Maintain corporate records: manage, organize, and archive documents.
  • Assist in compiling information as required in the event of legal action.
  • Other administrative support as required.

Knowledge/ Experience Required:

  • Completion of a paralegal diploma is required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience; in a law firm or in-house legal role and/or a combination of education and relevant work experience
  • Must have experience with document management software, and thorough knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  • Extremely detail-orientated, strong commercial and sound risk management skills
  • Experience with factual research, document analysis, filings, drafting documents, and coordinating document production.
  • The ability to think tactically to get the best result for all parties.
  • Excellent communication skills: written and verbal skills, organization abilities and proven attention to detail
  • High degree of initiative with the ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Optimistic/collaborative approach and attitude towards work
  • Understanding and commitment to Indigenous culture, history, and community development an asset

Working Conditions:

  • General office environment
  • Travel to project sites may be required.
