Responsibilities:

  1. Route Coordination: Plan and optimize truck routes based on delivery requirements, distance, delivery deadlines, traffic conditions, and driver availability. Ensure the most efficient use of resources to minimize delivery times and reduce fuel costs.
  2. Driver Communication: Maintain constant communication with truck drivers, providing detailed instructions, updates on delivery schedules, and addressing any issues or emergencies that may arise during transportation.
  3. Dispatching: Utilize dispatching software and communication tools to assign and track trucks and drivers, ensuring seamless coordination between drivers and the transportation team.
  4. Delivery Monitoring: Monitor the status of deliveries in real-time, proactively identifying and resolving any potential delays or issues that may impact delivery schedules.
  5. Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate records of delivery documents, update delivery records, and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  6. Customer Service: Interact with customers to provide updates on delivery statuses, address inquiries, and handle customer concerns professionally and efficiently.
  7. Emergency Response: Quickly respond to unexpected delays or emergencies, devising alternative plans and communicating with drivers and customers to mitigate disruptions in delivery schedules.
  8. Compliance: Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, safety standards, and company policies to maintain a safe and efficient transportation operation.
  9. Problem-Solving: Proactively identify and address operational challenges, collaborating with drivers, logistics team, and management to implement effective solutions.
  10. Continuous Improvement: Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance transportation efficiency, customer satisfaction, and overall performance.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in dispatching or logistics, preferably in the transportation industry, is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in using dispatching software and communication tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities to address operational challenges.
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards is desirable.
  • Flexibility to work in rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
