Our client in the healthcare industry is looking for a HR Business Partner to join their team on a mostly remote basis with onsite requirements on rare occasion in Barrie or Oakville ON for a 3 month contract.

As a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP), your role revolves around employing a consultative approach and leveraging your wide-ranging generalist knowledge. You will directly collaborate with specific client groups, offering seasoned guidance, expert counsel, and high-level human resources consulting, coaching, and leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Offer guidance on relevant legislation, policies, and Collective Agreements to inform decision-making.
  • Provide counsel to individuals at all levels within the organization regarding Human Resources matters and available options.
  • Prepare for and support the grievance process, including proceedings leading up to arbitration.
  • Prepare for and actively participate in Collective Bargaining negotiations.
  • Conduct workplace investigations, ranging from straightforward to complex, addressing issues such as harassment, human rights violations, and employment complaints, and recommend resolution options.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Human Resource policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Create reports, educational materials, and presentations related to critical workplace relations issues to facilitate organizational learning.
  • Address general HR inquiries from managers and employees as required.
  • Demonstrate expertise in return-to-work programs, WSIB, and disability management.

Qualifications:

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field.
  • Accumulate 3-5 years of practical experience, demonstrating expertise in employee and labor relations.
  • Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in a unionized work environment.
  • Either possess a CHRP designation or be actively working towards it.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR legislation, encompassing Employment Standards, Human Rights, Health & Safety, Privacy, Compensation, and Labor Relations.
