We are currently seeking a Control Systems Engineer with onshore Oil & Gas production facilities experience to work with a prominent E&P based in Houston, TX.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Control Systems / Automation Engineer is primarily responsible for providing technical support for our client's production and maintenance operations involving the installation of new equipment, modification of existing equipment, repair and maintenance of all instrumentation and automation equipment/ systems.
The I&C/ Automation Engineer is also responsible for:
– Maintenance strategy and assurance of integrity/ reliability of offshore platform plant and equipment
– Analyzing equipment failures and preparing reports regarding findings and cause of failures; identifying remedial actions, including revisions to the maintenance strategy and following up on implementation of agreed actions
– Leading the implementation of the failure resolving process using Root Cause Failure Analysis; presenting, supporting and validating recommendations from failure reports
– Participating in the development, implementation and evaluation of the effectiveness of systems and procedures to improve maintenance plans, policies and programs
– Supporting maintenance department activities associated with the technical operations related to instrumentation and automation equipment located offshore as spares; specifying procedures and materials needed for safe and effective execution of offshore work, such as major equipment overhauls, annual shutdowns and equipment modifications
– Supporting implementations of preventative maintenance programs for all production equipment and other facilities, such as control systems and automation hardware, software systems, communication and network equipment
– Coordinating with Planners and Supervisors for the scheduling of major maintenance activities and other technical/ operating programs
– Ensuring by personal inspection that repaired items and purchased items are fit for service within time requirements
– Assisting in the selection of vendors and contractors for the purchase of materials, equipment, and supplies, and the contracting of engineering consultants, workshops and specialized technical services to improve operating efficiency; reviewing vendors' O&M manuals and drawings relating to new equipment for technical correctness and to ensure information is transferred to CMMS, maintenance strategy and maintenance procedures
– Ensuring work output complies with relevant procedures; reviewing work output of assigned staff as needed
– Preparing estimates and assisting in the review of proposed schedules; maintaining plan targets and controlling budget spending
– Participating in discussions with Field Management and visiting jobsites as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
– Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation and/or Control Systems Engineering or related field
– 10 + years of progressive Instrumentation and Automation experience within onshore oil & gas, engineering project environment; prior experience with equipment maintenance, facility design and installation on onshore facilities, receiving stations, gas processing plants and support infrastructure is strongly preferred
– Processional Engineer License preferred
– ISA, CFSE, or other SIS/Functional Safety Cert preferred
