Wildlight is a new full-service restaurant by one of Western Canada’s largest employers. With a west coast concept and lively feel, Wildlight will celebrate the current and distinctive food culture of British Columbia’s west shore, a region with an affinity for local and seasonal produce, fresh Pacific seafood, sustainability, cultural diversity, and chef-driven culinary traditions.

We are hiring for a Chef de Partie, Wildlight Kitchen + Bar at our location in Vancouver, BC near the UBC area. You will be responsible for:

  • Preparing menu items according to standard recipe, plating, quality expectations and time standards.
  • Portioning, arranging and garnishing food to ensure proper presentation and quality.
  • Labeling and dating all food items that are prepped and/or opened.
  • Ordering, stocking and maintaining sufficient levels of food products at station
  • Assisting other cooks during times of heavy business volume.
  • Maintaining professional communication with front of the house staff to accommodate all guest requests and special dietary needs.
  • Observing and testing food to ensure proper quality using methods such as tasting, smelling, or testing proper cooking temperature with a thermometer.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area and ensuring that equipment in the work area is clean and in proper working condition.
  • Providing leadership and assisting in training of cooks.
  • Assisting other kitchen areas as needed. You have:
  • Food Safe Certification.
  • Minimum 2 years of previous experience as a cook in an upscale high-volume, full-

service restaurant environment.

  • Demonstrated expert skill level on all cook stations.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a focus on coaching for success.
  • Ability to oversee the daily operations of the kitchen in the absence of the Chef.
  • Proficiency with computers and applications including POS systems. You are:
  • A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with team members and customers.
  • Adaptable, open to change and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
