We are looking for an IT Support Engineer who will have an uncontrollable urge to troubleshoot and dig to get to the root of a problem and resolve it. You must have a drive to go the extra mile to help your coworkers be as productive as only you can make them. Our IT environment is a very mixed environment of various tools and vendors. The candidate must be very comfortable with dealing with a multitude of different SaaS products.

What will you do?

  • Be proactive and ready to look into issues, ranging from easy to complex
  • Maintain users and groups, permissions and settings in our corporate tools: Active Directory, Atlassian, Google Workspace, Okta, Slack, Zoom, Kandji MDM, etc
  • Google Workspace management – provisioning and maintaining corporate user accounts, update distribution groups, managing email server settings, etc
  • Hardware support and imaging computers – deploy, maintain inventory, replace, work with vendors to RMA as needed.
  • Some Jira and Confluence support, project, space, user and permissions management
  • Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers, network gear, servers from time to time.
  • Windows and MacOS troubleshooting as required. If you know Linux, even better!
  • Microsoft Active Directory management
  • Mac OS management with Kandji MDM
  • Managing storage and file shares on Windows based file servers (NTFS permissions)
  • Managing a VMware vCenter environment (create, troubleshoot, manage VM’s)
  • Manage and maintain our cloud resources in AWS and / or Azure
  • Manage users in our Okta environment
  • Maintain our network infrastructure, firewalls (Fortigate), switches (Cisco), Wifi (Meraki), VPN connections (site to site IPsec and SSL VPN)
  • Maintain our anti virus from the management portal, push out agent updates, remediate threats, report on status, make changes as necessary.
  • Monitor and maintain our cloud patching solution, ensure all endpoints are up to date with security patches and running latest versions of software
  • Monitor and maintain server backups with Veeam, work with the backup jobs as needed
  • Onboard new hires for the company – (create accounts, ship out laptops, etc)
  • Support all Paramount employees remotely and on occasion locally in the Toronto office
  • Some travel to the Toronto office is to be expected – we are in the office 1-2 times a week
  • Provide assistance and support with user onboarding and offboarding
  • Work on projects as assigned by the Corporate IT Manager
  • Must be able and willing to roll up sleeves to do research and provide solutions to complex tasks

You have:

  • Admin Knowledge of Google Workspace is mandatory
  • Amazing communication skills (written and oral) to support our employees, providing updates to the team, and for writing documentation (on occasion)
  • Adept at reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation
  • Ability to conduct research into advanced hardware, software, network, user account related issues as required (troubleshooting)
  • Good experience and understanding with TCP/IP networking: VLANs, subnets, VPN connections, WiFi, IP addressing (very important)
  • Working knowledge with network appliances – we use Fortigate firewalls, Cisco switches, Meraki WiFi Access Points – it’s fine to have experience with other vendors
  • Flexible working hours as the need may arise from time to time to provide support past 5PM Eastern time, and to perform after hours maintenance from time to time.

Good working knowledge and understanding of:

  • VMware and virtualization
  • Windows Servers OS
  • DHCP, DNS, file shares, group policies
  • Active Directory
  • Cloud computing (Azure, AWS)
  • Mandatory knowledge and understanding of security principles, MFA, public and private keys, disk encryption, SSL, email encryption, endpoint security, MDM/EDM
  • Outstanding knowledge of Windows and MacOS
  • Patch management for workstations & servers
  • Various SaaS applications (Atlassian, Google Workspace, Okta, Slack, Zoom)

Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge of Okta is nice to have
  • Knowledge of Zoom is nice to have
  • Some knowledge of Atlassian product suite (Jira, Confluence) is preferred
  • Some knowledge of Linux (Debian / Ubuntu) is preferred
