• Set up and use various concrete finishing tools and equipment, such as trowels, screeds, and edgers, to shape and smooth concrete surfaces.
• Apply finishing treatments, such as sealants, stains, or textures, to enhance the appearance and protect the concrete.
• Monitor and adjust the drying and curing process to ensure optimal results.
• Repair and patch damaged or uneven concrete surfaces to achieve a consistent finish.
• Collaborate with the construction team to coordinate the timing of concrete pouring and finishing.
• Follow safety guidelines and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
• Maintain and clean tools and equipment used in the finishing process.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure the timely completion of projects.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Concrete Finisher or in a similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of concrete types, characteristics, and finishing techniques.
• Proficiency in using concrete finishing tools and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and specifications.
• Physical stamina and strength to perform physically demanding tasks, such as bending, kneeling, and lifting heavy objects.
• Attention to detail to ensure a smooth and consistent finish.
• Problem-solving skills to address any issues that arise during the finishing process.
• Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with other construction professionals.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to adhere to them at all times.
• Valid driver’s license is preferred but not always required.

Tasks

• Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials and direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade
• Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement
• Operate power vibrators to compact concrete
• Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification
• Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and other fixtures
• Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces
• Waterproof, damp proof and restore surfaces
• Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures
